How Using Videos Can Boost Your Business

As a business owner, it probably feels like there’s always something else you should be doing that you aren’t. Especially in the age of the internet.  From social media to blogs, websites, and more, it can all feel very overwhelming! The trick is choosing the things that work the best for your business, and it doesn’t get any better than video.

I know what you’re thinking. Managing a blog and posting on social media is hard enough! How in the world am I supposed to make and post videos?

And why in the world would I want to add making and posting videos to my already busy routine? Video can outperform more traditional forms of marketing, so it’s definitely worth your time. Here’s why.

You’re more searchable on Google

Having trouble with your ranking on Google? Even doing everything right can place on you on the second or third page and beyond, and we all know that almost no one clicks past the first page or two. Having a video can really help.

Having just one video on your website can boost your ranking as much as 58 times compared to sites without a video. Just one video and you could quickly increase the number of people who are exposed to your site.

Boost your conversion rates

Maybe you already get a lot of traffic to your site or social media accounts, but having thousands of followers is useless if you can’t get them to convert. Whether you’re looking for something simple, like getting them to sign up for a weekly email or you want to get them to make a purchase, you have to do a little convincing.

That’s where videos come in. When someone is able to see you in action, whether talking about your business or doing a demonstration, they’re more likely to trust you.

When they trust you, they’re more likely to follow through. This method of connecting on a personal level with your customers and followers can result in a 4.8 percent conversion rate, while the average conversion rate hovers at around 2.9 percent.

Get more shares

Getting shares on social media sites can be addicting, and it can expose your brand to people that didn’t even know you existed. Getting more shares is usually an integral part of any social media campaign. So, how can you boost your shares? You guessed it—videos.

Videos generate 1,200 percent more shares than text and images. Take a minute to let that sink in. 1,200 percent more!

Don’t get left behind

It’s estimated that videos will make up 60 percent of all mobile traffic and 80 percent of all internet traffic by 2020. Don’t get left behind and try making a few videos!
